* I don’t mean to sound “cheesy”, “typical”, “overly dramatic” or what have you. These are my genuine feelings as I conclude my mission. *
I cannot believe that it has been two years.
Being honest, this week was not as successful as I would have liked. We tried really hard. We worked really hard. We didn’t even take our dinner hour the entire week. But, I know that I left it “all on the field” and did everything I could not only this week, but throughout my entire mission. Yes, I made mistakes along the way, but I learned from them and was changed by them.
I’m thankful for my many learning experiences on my mission. The Lord has put me in some difficult situation, but I am thankful for them, because that is when I grew the most. The Lord has been there with me every step of the way, supporting me, strengthening me, comforting me, and blessing me. Because of his help, I’ve been able to help strengthen and bless others.
I’m thankful for each one of my companions. They each taught me something during my time with them, and it was not by accident we were assigned to serve together.
I’m so thankful for the friends I have made. For the many people I’ve been able to teach and serve. For the many members that helped in countless ways. I’m thankful for the sacrifices made on my behalf. Not only from the people within my mission, but those outside the mission (friends and family). I’m thankful for your prayers, you love, and your support.
My mission has been a priceless experience. One that I do not regret, and will always remember.
I’m thankful for the opportunity I’ve had to come to this mission. I love the New Mexico Farmington mission, and it was where the Lord needed me. I’m thankful for President and Sister Adams, they have blessed my life so much. What a privileged it has been to serve among the Lamanites. I’m thankful for the opportunity and blessing I had throughout my mission to come to know and serve closely with many missionaries.
I’m thankful that we live in a time when the gospel has been restored to the earth. What a blessing it is. I’m thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who has provided a way for us to learn, grow, and become like He is. I’m thankful for modern day Prophets and Apostles. I’m thankful for our additional knowledge and scripture the Book of Mormon and it’s witness of Jesus Christ.
I know this is the true church. I know it was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know Jesus Christ lives. I’m thankful for the opportunity to represent Him. I know that Jesus Christ leads this church. I know that he leads this work. I know He has led me.
I’m proud of this chapter of my life. And I’m excited for the next chapter.
I will see you shortly.
